Florida isn’t around to defend its title anymore, but all the other top seeds in this year’s NCAA Tournament are still around.
And many of them are winning convincingly.
In the first week of the NCAA Tournament, games were decided by an average of 15.3 points. According to Sportradar, that represents the third-highest average margin of victory through the round of 32 since 1985, when the tournament expanded to 64 teams before eventually getting to its current 68-team format.
The only NCAA Tournaments with higher average victory margin since then came in 1993 (16.1) and 2024 (15.4).

Skier Mikaela Shiffrin just keeps winning following a redemptive performance at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics. Shiffrin continued her fantastic run in 2026 on Wednesday, taking home a record-tying sixth women’s World Cup skiing title.
It was an excellent performance by Shiffrin, who needed a top-15 finish in the giant slalom to secure the win and finish ahead of German Emma Aicher.
Shiffrin was able to pull it off.

WOW 🤩
Mikaela Shiffrin claims her record-setting ninth slalom win of the season in Lillehammer, clocking a combined time of 2:07.

The 2026 Masters will get underway in just two weeks, but despite the year’s first major championship being right around the corner, literally, we still don’t know if Tiger Woods will be teeing it up. Based on his most recent comments, it’s likely to stay that way right up until he’s forced to make a decision.
Woods, who hasn’t played a competitive round of golf since July 2024, made his season debut on TGL on Tuesday night for his Jupiter Links team.

Until recently, the dumbest thing Dan Orlovsky ever did was unintentionally, unwittingly and inexplicably scramble out of the back of an end zone during an NFL game almost two decades ago in order to avoid getting sacked. But then Tuesday happened.
And Orlovsky, the former-NFL-backup-quarterback-turned-usually-insightful ESPN football analyst, ran out of excuses and reasons for disliking Fernando Mendoza as the top quarterback prospect in the NFL draft.
Thank you, Pat McAfee.

Goalkeepers have the ability to play into their later 30s and even 40s, but forward Roger Milla showed that age wasn’t going to slow him down to help Cameroon.
After helping Cameroon qualify for the 1982 World Cup, Milla retired six years later from international duty.

The former Liverpool striker and Wales and Real Madrid manager Josh Toshack has been diagnosed with dementia, his son has revealed.
Toshack, 77, has “good days and bad days”, his son Cameron Toshack told the Daily Mail.
Toshack scored 96 goals for Liverpool in a seven-year spell at Anfield that brought three league titles, two Uefa Cups and the European Cup.
He formed a formidable strike partnership with Kevin Keegan and scored 13 goals in 40 caps for Wales before turning to management.

Inter prepared to make Roma’s Kone the club’s most expensive signing in 6 years
Reports in Italy claim that Inter are stepping up in their pursuit of Roma midfielder Manu Kone and that the Nerazzurri are prepared to make the Frenchman the club’s most expensive signing in six years.
How much do Inter need to convince Roma into selling Kone?

Third time lucky! Cambuur win promotion back to the Eredivisie
Cambuur will be competing in the Eredivisie again next season. The side confirmed their return to the top flight of Dutch football with a 4-2 victory over FC Emmen. It had been a matter of when not if Cambuur would win promotion in recent weeks, and now they and ADO Den Haag will go head to head for the title in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.
It marks the end of a three year spell in the second tier for Cambuur. After relegation from the Eredivisie in 2022/2023, the side finished a disappointing 17th the following season.
