Tennessee finished up the 2025 season on a sour note, which sparked plenty of change in the program back in December. Josh Heupel made the move to fire Tim Banks, hiring Jim Knowles to fill his role as defensive coordinator. Knowles, naturally, had plenty of needs defensively to fill as he installed his system in Knoxville.

The WNBA regular season is almost at its quarter mark, and the standings are starting to take shape. Near the top of the standings are the Atlanta Dream, which made the defining move of the offseason by trading with the Chicago Sky to acquire star forward Angel Reese.
The move has paid massive dividends for Atlanta. Although Reese has struggled with her offensive efficiency at times, she’s been nothing short of a force on the glass and an anchor for Atlanta’s defense, which is arguably the best in the league.

The Nashville Predators have added another name to their general manager search.
The Predators have been granted permission to speak to Colorado Avalanche general manager Chris MacFarland, the team confirmed to The Tennessean.
It’s unclear whether MacFarland would be interviewing for the same role in Nashville – which would be a lateral move – or another as of yet undefined role. In Colorado, MacFarland works under president of hockey operations Joe Sakic.
