House Democrats employed every scare tactic at their disposal, but failed to stop the common-sense bill, “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” from passing in the House of Representatives.  
The bill, H.R. 28, passed by a 218-206 margin with all Republicans voting “yea” and all but two Democrats voting “nay.” 
The two Democrats who broke with party lines and voted “yea” were Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez, both from Texas.

The Montreal Canadiens will be without the services of rookie forward Emil Heineman for a few weeks after a scary incident in Utah in which he was hit by car.
The Habs are in Salt Lake City for a game against the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday night, but Monday, they received word that Heineman had been involved in a pedestrian accident, per the CBC.
The incident happened around 2:55 p.m. local time, according to Salt Lake City police, but when officers arrived at the scene after getting a call about a collision involving a pedestrian, they were unable to find either party involved.

Diontae Johnson can’t stick to a team, no matter the level of desperation. 
The Houston Texans have waived the ex-Pro Bowl wide receiver after joining the team before the postseason and making two appearances, including Saturday’s Wild Card matchup against the LA Chargers.
Buzz around the internet suggests Johnson was upset by his lack of playing time. According to ESPN, on Saturday, “Johnson was visibly upset in the locker room. He was fully dressed sitting at his locker staring in frustration because of a lack of playing time and targets.

Sasaki has just over a week before his posting window closes, the 2025 international free agency class is now open, and after conducting a second round of meetings, his decision is rapidly approaching. And reports broke on Monday that he’d informed a number of teams that he’d be signing elsewhere.
Just a few days ago, it seemed like the San Francisco Giants were one of the three favorites, along with the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Clark, the Indiana Fever standout guard, is the latest basketball star to be subject to harassment and stalking.
On Sunday, a 55-year-old man was arrested on a felony stalking charge after allegedly sending repeated sexually violent messages to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. The man, a Texas resident named Michael Lewis, reportedly traveled to Indianapolis in an attempt to see her, and is alleged to have sent disturbing messages that were threatening in nature.
