By now we all know the pitch clock has arrived in Major League Baseball and the games are looking a lot different, plus a lot faster.
You know what else looks different? The television broadcasts. Now, as a viewer you’re always looking at the clock on the screen to find out whether the hitter is going to get ready in time and if the pitcher is going to throw his pitch in time.
It’s all a little … intense.
Well, the Mets broadcast took the pitch clock to a new level during Monday night’s game against the Padres.
For years, men’s college basketball championships often have been won or lost many months in advance. Player decisions about the NBA—and, increasingly, whether to transfer or even enroll in college—shape the next season.
On that front, consider Duke the biggest potential winner for 2024. So far.
Kyle Filipowski announced Tuesday that he’ll staying in college for at least one more season, bypassing the likely chance to be a first-round draft pick. The 7-footer averaged 15.1 points and 8.9 rebounds for the Blue Devils as a freshman, leading the team in both categories.
Former University of Kentucky swimmer and women’s rights activist Riley Gaines appeared Tuesday on The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show where she slammed sportswear giant Nike for inking a deal with transgender woman/female caricaturist Dylan Mulvaney.
OutKick founder Clay Travis asked Gaines if she had been approached by Nike for an endorsement deal of her own. That would seem fitting since, as Travis noted, Nike called Mulvaney “brave,” and, in light of recent events, Gaines has shown she possesses that trait.
But alas, Nike has not reached out.
Draymond Green knows what it’s like to punch his own teammate and knock them out cold, therefore his opinion about Rudy Gobert throwing a punch at Kyle Anderson during the middle of a game means something.
Actually, no, it doesn’t. His opinion may have mattered if it made any sense whatsoever, but like most things that come out of Green’s mouth, his take about Gobert’s sideline tantrum makes zero sense at all.

Thirty years ago, Don Calhoun got picked to try a three-quarter-court shot during a Bulls game. He made it, sending MJ and the Bulls into a frenzy because he had won $1 million. Or so everybody thought.
The Bucks enter the NBA playoffs as the top overall seed and the betting favorite to win their third title.
Among the top championship contenders are the three other Finals participants from the last two years: the Celtics, Suns and Warriors.
The 76ers, Nuggets and Lakers round out the upper echelon of potential title teams and then there’s a steep dropoff to the next group.
After the play-in tournaments decide the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds in the Eastern and Western Conference in the coming days, the field will narrow to 16 teams before the playoffs officially begin this weekend.
