Rob Gronkowski sounds like he’s completely content never playing football again.
The four-time Super Bowl champion with the Bucs and Patriots retired for the second time after the 2021 season, but there’s been endless speculation he might eventually return to the gridiron. After all, he’s still only 33.
However, fans holding out hope Gronkowski will lace up his cleats again can probably give it up.

Rob Gronkowski sounds good in retirement.

Bethune-Cookman may need a little TLC – Ed Reed’s words, not mine! – but that’s not keeping the stars from coming out! The latest? Former Miami Hurricane legend and NFL great Edgerrin James.
James hit the road for Daytona Beach on Thursday and spent the day with Reed and the Wildcats, according to James’ Instagram story.
James and Reed played one season together at Miami in 1998 before the future four-time Pro Bowl running back went on to the NFL.

Just a few years ago it would have been shocking to hear that closing pitcher Aroldis Chapman was having difficulty finding a team that wanted him.
The 7x All-Star and World Series Champion used to be lights out when his opponents came up to the plate. He’s hoping to bring similar successes to the Kansas City Royals.

In recent years, Chapman has struggled – especially last year in what was a disastrous final stint with the New York Yankees.
Closing pitcher Aroldis Chapman has signed with the Kansas City Royals for one-year.

The ESPN personality has his eyes on another show.
Stephen A. Smith has become one of the primary voices on ESPN, but the talking head has his eyes on a bigger job.
While appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Smith said he would like to take over for Jimmy Kimmel doing late night TV.
“I am interested in doing late night,” Smith said. “I would love to be the heir apparent to Jimmy Kimmel. I believe I could do it. I would throw everybody for a loop, my politics would throw people off because I’d be fair to everybody and I’d listen to everybody.

Here’s what happened around the NBA on Thursday night.
I know firsthand just how badly playoff losses can sting — and how long-lasting the sting can be. Getting revenge in a regular season game the following season will never be enough to satisfy the bitterness from the ending prior, but that doesn’t stop it from being way better than the alternative.

Four spots in the conference title games are on the line.
Good morning, I’m Dan Gartland. I hope the Giants make it worth canceling my Saturday-night plans to watch the game.

The NFL’s Elite Eight
Technically, there are eight teams left with a chance to win this year’s Super Bowl.

The club has opted to put a number of interviews on hold in the wake of Anton Walkes’s death.
The Panthers have opted to postpone their interview with Sean Payton regarding the team’s head coaching vacancy in the wake of the death of Charlotte FC defender Anton Walkes, according to The Athletic’s Joe Person.
Walkes died in a boating accident in Miami on Wednesday. He was 25 years old.
Panthers owners David Tepper also owns Charlotte FC, the club that Walkes made 23 appearances with during the 2022 season.
