We put Austin Rivers’ claim to the test.
The time-honored argument of cross sport athletes is rearing its head once more with Austin Rivers and J.J. Watt beefing over whether NBA players could compete in the NFL.
This week Rivers infamously said that as many as THIRTY (30) players in the association could make the jump right now, to which Watt clapped back — scoffing at the suggestion.

You don’t got a job in either right now, go head and try it… https://t.

Angel Reese had herself a week.
Angel Reese has had herself a week. On Monday night she lit up the red carpet at the Met Gala, wearing a couture dress that was utterly perfect. Then it was right back to the grind, as she joined the Chicago Sky in preseason and didn’t look like she missed a beat.

Reese isn’t getting near the same attention as Caitlin Clark this preseason, but the college foes are both balling out.

The MLB Network issued the ultimate jinx last night after they called a “No Hitter Alert” before Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto even threw a single pitch against the hapless Miami Marlins.
What was supposed to be cute and funny soon turned pretty hilarious for everyone except Dodgers fans as Yamamoto gave a home run just seconds later.
MLB Network studio analysts Harold Reynolds and Greg Armsinger sent the game over to Dodgers Stadium, they told everyone that here was a no-hitter going on.
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but we are already in a No-Hitter Alert.

Is there anything more exciting than the final minute of regulation in a Stanley Cup Playoff game with one team on a power play and the score tied? No, there’s not, which is why it’s not a good idea to cut to warm-ups for the next game when it’s happening, but that’s exactly what ESPN did  Tuesday night during Game 2 of the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes second-round series.
It was a back-and-forth affair between the two teams, that escalated with a late tripping penalty against Carolina’s Brady Skjei.

Rory McIlroy may be the face of the PGA Tour and the most-popular player in the sport not named Tiger Woods, but that doesn’t mean he’s loved by everyone, and that includes some on the Tour’s policy board.
McIlroy, who joined the policy board in 2022, abruptly resigned from his position in November 2023, citing professional and personal commitments. Being the unofficial spokesperson for the PGA Tour during the early days of its battle with LIV Golf and the Saudi PIF had clearly and understandably taken a toll on McIlroy.

USGA CEO Mike Whan did not rule out the possibility of LIV Golf stars directly receiving access to the U.S. Open.
Many LIV Golf members have begged governing bodies to create pathways into majors since the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) does not award points at LIV events.
After all, the Saudi-backed circuit has robust talent, including Brooks Koepka, who won the PGA Championship last year at Oak Hill.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly is still trying to toe the company line when it comes to NIL and buying players to compete for his team, but his opinion on not overpaying for high-profile athletes is a problem coaches around the country are dealing with on a daily basis.
We have certainly passed the point of return when it comes to using NIL to recruit some of the best talent in the country, whether that be from the transfer portal or high school.

The timing is simply incredible, you can’t make it up
Sometimes, predictions made before a game can go horribly wrong. Charles Barkley’s guarantees on Inside the NBA almost always go poorly, and we always see pregame predictions go wrong in football. However, this poorly timed prediction on the MLB Network might take the cake. MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger predicted that Los Angeles Dodgers star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto would throw a no hitter, putting the star on ‘no-hitter’ watch … before a pitch was even thrown against the Miami Marlins.
