How Pistol offense is coming back in style in the NFL
NFL defenses have begun to catch up to NFL offenses in the battle for supremacy on the football field. Points per game were at their lowest last season since 2017, according to Pro Football Reference, and passing yards per game in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons hovered around 218 yards, the lowest since 2009.
As defenses began to take away explosive plays, offenses had to focus on getting defenses out of two-high shells via quick underneath passing and the run game.

Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham is making a bold statement both on and off the court.
The Mercury clinched the team’s 14th playoff appearance in the last 16 seasons with a 74-66 win over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night, but Cunningham was already making headlines after one of her pregame fits went viral on social media last week. 
The veteran WNBA player turned heads with a “Love Island” inspired dress that revealed her summer tan lines before the Mercury’s matchup against the New York Liberty on Aug. 26.

Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc did their best to identify NFL teams at the Italian Grand Prix
The 2024 NFL season is right around the corner, and fans across the globe are getting ready for the return of football.
That includes our friends over at Ferrari’s Formula 1 team.
The team shared a video on social media putting drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. to the test, asking them to differentiate between real and imagined NFL teams.

Caitlin Clark set the internet on fire Wednesday night.
Clark and the Fever improved to 18-16 after beating the Los Angeles Sparks 93-86, and the star WNBA rookie absolutely poured it on. She notched her second triple-double of the year after scoring 24 points, dishing out 10 assists and grabbing 10 rebounds.
It’s a Caitlin Clark world and the rest of us are living in it. The Fever have gone 17-8 since an abysmal 1-8 start, and Clark is the main reason why.
People were quick to show her love on social media after the game as it’s now become impossible to deny her greatness.

Rebecca Cheptegei, a marathon runner who ran for Uganda in the Paris Olympics, has died following an altercation with her boyfriend in which he set her on fire. The 33-year-old reportedly sustained 80% burns to her body.
Cheptegei, who lives in Kenya, was attacked in her house in the western Trans Nzoia County in East Africa. Police Commander Jeremiah Ole Kosiom said on Monday that Cheptegei’s boyfriend, Dickson Ndiema, bought a jerrican of petrol, poured it on her and set her on fire. Ndiema reportedly sustained serious burns as a result of the attack as well.

The beauty of the National Football League is that after an offseason of hope for all 32 teams, everything gets settled on the field. Things like preseason rankings play no role in determining which two teams square off at the end of the year, and who remains standing, holding the Lombardi Trophy aloft.
That does not mean, of course, that preseason rankings do not make for great content.
