Still thinking about this wild Justin Fields throw that didn’t count.
Justin Fields wasn’t supposed to be the Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting quarterback to being the 2024 season. The Steelers also brought in Russell Wilson over the offseason, and the veteran was expected to be the Week 1 starter while the younger Fields served as an understudy. Instead, Wilson came up with a calf injury in practice just before the opener, and Fields has been thrust into duty.
So far, so good. The Steelers are 2-0, and Fields is playing efficient if not exactly spectacular football.

Kupp’s injury is not season-ending and he could return within the next month.

Standing on the opposing sidelines in Norman, Okla., on Saturday night will surely bring back some emotional memories for Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel. 
There was a point in his early career of coaching that Heupel was the one calling plays for the Oklahoma Sooners, years after leading the team to a national championship. The history between the Vols head coach and his former school has been well-documented over the years, since he was fired by Bob Stoops in 2014 after leading the offense for four years.

The Steelers, Seahawks, Chargers, Saints and Vikings are off to somewhat unexpected 2-0 starts.

Every year, WNBA head coaches vote on the All-Rookie Team, an honor bestowed upon the five most impactful first-year players each season. This draft class has been particularly stacked, and there are lots of compelling candidates who could have made the five-member All-Rookie squad.

Well, the NFL continues to be ass-backwards, but also, very predictable. Hard to do, but the script-writers continue to pump out amazing #content for us each and every week. 
What do I mean by that? 
Well, most of the last week has been dominated by A) Tua retirement talk, B) Chiefs-getting-bailed-out-by-another-penalty talk, and C) Tony Romo-being-insufferable talk. 
That’s the same stuff we’ve been talking about for years now. Mix in the mandatory two hours of Cowboys talk over on First Take, and it’s basically 2022 all over again.

Chief among them is the fight atop the Constructors’ Championship standings, and whether fans are in for a three-way battle between McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull down the stretch.

QB1 for the Badgers suffered a season-ending ACL injury on the opening drive against Alabama this past Saturday.
It was clear to anyone who could see the medical tent situation that TVD was seriously hurt. Confirmation followed a couple days later that Van Dyke will miss the remainder of the season.
That means Braedyn Locke, who replaced TVD against Alabama, is QB1 for Wisconsin and Luke Fickell. Many fans appear ready to throw in the towel.

Defensive Player of the Year is one of the hardest awards to determine in professional basketball. There’s the question of whether guards can ever impact a game defensively the same way that post players can (see: DiJonai Carrington), and a dilemma regarding whether someone should be able to earn the honors if their team’s defense has been underwhelming (see: A’ja Wilson).
