Despite not feeling comfortable, Tom Hoge, one of the best ball strikers on the PGA Tour, is in the mix at the RBC Heritage.
Scottie Scheffler currently holds the title of being the best ball striker on the PGA Tour, as his recent play has called many to compare him to prime Tiger Woods.
Other great iron players on tour include Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, and Ludvig Åberg, but Tom Hoge, who only has one career PGA Tour victory, currently ranks second behind Scheffler in strokes gained: approaching the green.
Coming off of a long week at the Masters, Max Homa elected to head to Hilton Head without his wife and young son for this week’s RBC Heritage tournament on the PGA Tour. It didn’t take long for the solo trip to turn into a feast with the 33-year-old sounding like he’s been shoveling some food over the last few days.
During his pre-tournament press conference, Homa said that he chowed down on some Chick-Fil-A on his way into town and that it was actually a free meal thanks to a young fan next to him in the drive-thru line.

Tony Romo, the former Cowboys QB and scratch golfer, played with Scheffler prior to The Masters and saw this coming.
Scottie Scheffler is playing other-worldly right now. He is coming off winning his second Green Jacket in the last three years. But even prior to that, Scheffler had won two of his previous three starts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players.
He finished second in the only tournament he did not win during that stretch.
The Formula 1 circus is back in China for the first time since 2019, and just two sessions into the weekend it is — as the kids say — pretty lit.
By which I mean fires keep popping up alongside the track.
Friday saw cars on track for a single free practice session followed by Sprint Qualifying.
This was a major challenge considering it has been so long since the series has visited the Shanghai International Circuit, and it has been resurfaced since 2019 as well.
Comedian Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer appeared on ESPN last week to warn against voting Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić as the NBA’s most valuable player.
“They cannot give the Joker any more MVPs,” Hart said. “It’s not good for the NBA.”
Cedric the Entertainer agreed, nodding along that Jokić’s success is a net negative.
“The league MVP, I feel like you’re right, they can’t really [give it to Jokić] at this moment,” Cedric added, before campaigning for Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] to win the award.
