Have you ever been watching a game and thought to yourself, “Man, I sure would like to know what that player’s parent’s heart rate is looking like right now,” only to be left with no way to get a real answer?
Of course, you haven’t. That would be stupid.
But NBC plans to give us the answer this summer as part of its increasingly bizarre coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Nikola Jokic’s brother rocked a fan during the Nuggets/Lakers game Monday.
The Nuggets pulled off an incredible 101-99 win over the Lakers after erasing a 20-point deficit against LeBron James and company to improve to 2-0 in the series.
However, the biggest fireworks of the night might have happened in the stands. Jokic’s older brother Strahinja was captured on video rocking a fan with a hell of a punch, according to TMZ.
It’s not known as of publication what was said to spark the altercation, and the NBA is currently investigating the situation.

Everyone wants to know what the new Utah NHL franchise will be called. While there’s a chance they begin play next season with a temporary name, owner Ryan Smith has revealed how the new name will be selected.
They’re using everyone’s favorite method of group decision-making: a bracket.
“The goal is we want it to be by Utah, for Utah, and let our fans and our people and our players take part in creating that,” Smith said on Sportsnet’s 32 Thoughts podcast.

Timing is everything in most things from playing offensive tackle to travel itineraries.
And it helped with avoiding mundane and often meaningless spring practices for former Alabama, former Iowa and now current Alabama left tackle Kadyn Proctor.
Proctor’s in-or-out approach to the NCAA Transfer Portal just happened to allow him to miss all spring practices over the last several weeks at Iowa and at Alabama, where he officially returned on April 16 following a transfer to Iowa in January after playing his freshman season for the Crimson Tide in 2023.

The 2024 NFL season is a mightily important one for Brock Purdy. Not only will he be tasked to take yet another step in the right direction between years two and three in the NFL – something many young quarterbacks struggle with – but he’ll also be playing for what could be a ginormous pay raise and contract extension.
The former Iowa State product is entering year three of his four-year rookie contract and will be making a salary of $985,000 this season. Next year that number increases to $1.
