Is booing an opposing country’s national anthem off limits when it comes to competitive sports?
That’s what many are debating after Canadian fans booed the Team USA hockey team during the Star Spangled Banner at this past weekend’s 4 Nations Tournament game in what would eventually lead to a brawl between both teams just a few minutes after the game began.
But did the Canadian fans go too far? Or did the booing and ridiculing actually have the reverse effect and embolden / hype up Team USA players? After all, the Americans did win 3-1.

Kansas basketball is learning experience and money can’t overcome a bad roster construction.
Bill Self’s stranglehold on Big 12 men’s basketball has been just about the most consistent thing in all of sports. Self’s Kansas Jayhawks won at least a share of the Big 12 regular season championship 14 straight years from 2002-2018, breaking a record previously held by John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins. Even after the streak broke, Kansas bounced back with one of Self’s greatest teams ever in 2020 before the pandemic canceled in the NCAA tournament.

Tuesday night was a difficult one for Tiger Woods, and it had very little to do with his Jupiter Links team losing their TGL match against New York, and everything to do with who wasn’t in the audience supporting him.
Woods announced on February 4 that his mother, Kultida Woods, had suddenly passed away, just eight days after she was in attendance for Jupiter’s TGL match on January 27. 
Driving to the SoFi Center, likely the last place his mother watched him hit a golf shot, was understandably difficult for Tiger.

Never in a thousand years would I have guessed that a four-team international tournament that the NHL threw together to get some buzz going about international hockey ahead of its return to the Olympics in 2026 would prove to be one of the biggest things to happen to the league on a mainstream-level since the first Winter Classic.
And there’s a reason the 4 Nations Face-Off is getting so much attention. Unlike any other All-Star event, the 4 Nations has proven to be intense as hell, especially when the US and Canada meet up like they will in the championship game on Thursday.
