The Boston Celtics entered Game 3 in their series against the New York Knicks down 2-0. It’s fair to say that it was a must-win for them going into New York. The Celtics not only won but also kept their composure and beat the Knicks, 115-93.
While the Celtics should be glad to finally notch a victory in this series, what makes it harder is that they were up by exactly 20 in their two previous playoff matchups, then just barely blew both to lose Games 1 and 2 in the fourth quarter.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Andre Pallante took a shutout into the eighth inning in the second-longest outing of his career, and the St. Louis Cardinals extended their winning streak to seven with a 4-2 victory over the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Ryan Helsley allowed the Nationals to load the bases in the ninth but retired CJ Abrams on a first-pitch flyball for his seventh save in nine chances.
The Cardinals couldn’t quite close out a third straight shutout. Dylan Crews hit a two-run homer in the eighth for the first runs against St.
Ollie Watkins has scored 16 goals for Aston Villa this season [Getty Images]
“I said from the start when I joined the club, that’s what I had my eyes on,” says Ollie Watkins.
Now it’s official. He is Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer.
Watkins’ winner against Bournemouth was his 75th league goal for the club and moved him one clear of Gabby Agbonlahor’s previous record haul.
It marks a dramatic return to favour for the 29-year-old, who joined from Brentford in 2020.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Anthony Markanich and Robing Lod each scored a goal Saturday to help Minnesota United beat Inter Miami 4-1.
Minnesota (6-2-4), which beat Austin 3-0 last time out to snap a three-game winless skid, has won back-to-back games.
Hlongwane scored his first goal of the season to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute.

Former Alpine Formula 1 team principal Oliver Oakes’ departure from the team this week was shocking — especially since it was followed by a driver swap and the once-banned Flavio Briatore taking over as team boss — but now some new details make Oakes’ sudden split even more head-scratching.
Oakes left the Enstone-based team after just about a year of leading them, and the move continued a concerning trend of leadership instability of the mid-field team.
