When the Tennessee Titans used their number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft to select Miami quarterback Cam Ward, they had expected him and Will Levis to compete for the starting position. He demonstrated incredible leadership skills during his visit to Nashville, earning praise from Brian Callahan.

Lakers coach JJ Redick has done much right this season at the helm, his first as a coach at any level. But a decision he made in the team’s 116-114 Game 4 loss to the Timberwolves has come under fire, as it might very well be the clearest reason why the team flopped in the fourth quarter against the young, hungry Minnesotans. 
Redick said a decision was made at halftime by the Lakers to go full bore in the second half, which meant that the team would not sit stars LeBron James or Luka Doncic at all in the second half, keeping them on the floor for all 24 minutes.

FRANKLIN — Meadville junior Megan Puleio earned a gold medal at the Franklin Invitational on Saturday.
Puleio was the only Bulldog to claim the top prize. Her time of two minutes and 16.11 seconds in the 800-meter run was more than 10 seconds faster than the runner-up.
Also returning home with a top-three medal was Marlaya McCoy and Tatum Gorney. McCoy finished third (13.76) in the 100-meter dash and the triple jump (32-feet and 6.5-inches). Gorney was second in the long jump (16-2.25) and second in the 200-meter dash (28.40).
The girls 4×400-meter relay placed third (4:34.46).

It’s time for our high school boys volleyball athlete of the week voting.
This week, and every week during the volleyball season, we will nominate a handful of standouts for the honor. To be nominated for the voting, we need the results of matches from the home coaches after the games. Coaches have been asked to email results to pjsports@providencejournal.com. We will handle the results from there.
This week’s ballot opened on Tuesday and closes on Friday at 11:59 p.m. Voting must be done online via the ballot below. Email submissions will not be accepted.
