In recent years, the Miami Dolphins haven’t drafted players with intent to make them immediate starters. That will have to change in the 2025 NFL draft.
While players like Chop Robinson, Patrick Paul, and Cam Smith joined position groups that already had experienced veterans (when healthy, at least), the Dolphins currently have gaping holes at a few spots that can’t be ignored. General manager Chris Grier isn’t planning on filling all the team’s remaining holes with draft picks, though.

The PGA Tour’s 2025 FedEx Cup season is making the turn this week. Half of the 36 regular-season events, which conclude at the Wyndham Championship in early August, concluded last week with the RBC Heritage and Corales Puntacana Championship.

Falling back in the draft to acquire more picks has been the only first-round trades of recent memory, having to go all the way back to the 2012 bundle paid to grab CB Morris Claiborne for Dallas to be selectively aggressive.
But it can’t be ruled out, despite there being no fourth-round pick to bundle up.

The Open has not been played at Trump Turnberry since 2009, but the R&A, the golf governing body that runs the major championship, appears to want to see the President’s course added back to the rotation.
At the launch event for this year’s Open that will be held at Royal Portrush, recently-appointed R&A chief executive Mark Darbon said he would “love” for Turnberry to host another Open in the near future.
Darbon, who took over his role with the R&A in 2024, explained that it’s the logistics involved with hosting an Open at Turnberry that are the biggest holdups.

What happens when you have a college athlete not play a down of football, but then decides to leave school after one semester with a bag full of NIL payments? This is occurring across college sports right now, with the latest example being the Nico Iamaleava saga that also involved his younger brother, Madden, and UCLA quarterback Joey Aguilar.
Let me preface this by saying that this is only the latest example of what’s been going on behind the scenes involving collectives in collegiate sports.
