Mar. 25—OTHELLO — The Othello Huskies played in a doubleheader Friday night against the Kennewick Lions losing their first game 0-14 and winning their second 7-6.
“We did really good hitting today,” said Huskies head coach Ceci Rodriguez. “We’ve been working on it and this last game it really showed.”
While the team struggled to find footing in their first game, they were able to bounce back in their second game with an early lead.

Auburn football is the latest program to alter its traditional spring game format.
Auburn athletics announced Tuesday that the annual “A-Day” game will have a new look this year. The event, which will be held on Saturday, April 12 at Jordan-Hare Stadium, will now be a public practice beginning at noon CT and will last approximately an hour. Before the practice, an alumni flag football will take place at 11 a.m. CT, with the event concluding with an autograph session with head coach Hugh Freeze and Auburn players. The event will be free to attend.

The Mariners and Platinum Glove catcher Cal Raleigh have agreed on a six-year, $105 million contract extension, ESPN reported. The deal will buy out Raleigh’s final three years under arbitration and keep him in Seattle during what would have been his first three years as a free agent.

AHMEDABAD, India (AP) — Shreyas Iyer blazed a masterful unbeaten 97 off 42 balls and started his new stint as captain of Punjab Kings with a 11-run victory over Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday.
Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to the title last year, smacked nine sixes and five fours as he anchored Punjab to 243-5 with Shashank Singh hammering 44 not out off just 16 balls.
Gujarat ran out of steam in the death overs to finish at 232-5 despite Sai Sudharsan (74) and Jos Buttler (54) keeping them in the hunt at the home ground.
