The critics who went nuts when Caleb Williams cried in his mother’s arms after a University of Southern California loss in 2023 are going to come out of the woodwork again because the now-Chicago Bears quarterback admits he spent much of his rookie season crying as well.
In a longform piece for which Williams talked with Esquire, the quarterback admitted what seemed obvious to anyone with eyes: The Bears’ 5-12 season that led to the firing of head coach Matt Eberflus and much of his staff, and featured Williams getting sacked an NFL-high 68 times, wore on Williams.

A Tennessee product from the Tony Vitello era is returning to MLB.
Former Vols’ third baseman Trey Lipscomb was recalled by the Nationals on Wednesday. He was recalled after starting third baseman Paul DeJong sustained a pitch to his face April 15 and was placed on the 10-day injured list.
Lipscomb was selected by Washington in the third-round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft (No. 84 overall). He played at Tennessee from 2019-22 and won the 2022 SEC Tournament and regular-season championship.
Lipscomb appeared in 66 games in his final season at Tennessee in 2022.

Boupendza’s death was confirmed by his former team, who called Boupendza “a loved member of the FC Cincinnati family.”

All players had a deadline to submit their names into the draft before April 26 at 11:59 p.m.
