An attorney for former West Virginia men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins claims the 69-year-old never formally resigned from his post at the program and intends to sue the university of he’s not reinstated immediately, according to a report from WVMetroNews.
Huggins’s attorneys reportedly sent a letter to the university on Friday, July 7, indicating that Huggins is “simply looking for the correction of a clear breach of his employment agreement with WVU.”
Huggins’s attorney threatened legal action should the university fail to reinstate his client.

Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez is due to make his second consecutive trip to the MLB All-Star Game, but it appears he’s not satisfied by merely being on the roster.
Following his start on Saturday, Valdez told reporters that he’s hoping to start the game for the American League on Tuesday. More so, the 29-year-old said that if he’s not named the starting pitcher, he “probably wouldn’t” pitch at all.
“I worked really hard to be able to start the All-Star Game. I led the league in ERA … and it would mean a lot to me,” said Valdez, via Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

Amid the disturbing hazing allegations within Northwestern’s football program that resulted in a two-week suspension of coach Pat Fitzgerald, the players responded with their own statement on Saturday night.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg shared a statement, signed by “The ENTIRE Northwestern Football Team”, contradicting allegations of alleged coerced sexual acts that were reported by The Daily Northwestern, the school’s student newspaper.
“Northwestern Football players DO NOT tolerate hazing,” the statement read.

Wizards guard Jordan Poole spoke to reporters on Saturday, during which he discussed the trade that brought him to Washington D.C. from the Warriors.
Poole, whom Golden State GM Mike Dunleavy had indicated was going to remain with the team throughout his four-year contract before trading him just a few days later, was dealt to the Wizards in a blockbuster deal that sent Chris Paul to the Warriors.

Veteran free agent point guard John Wall is planning on holding a private workout for multiple teams Sunday in Las Vegas, according to a report from Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.
Wall, the former No. 1 overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft, most recently averaged 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 34 games for the Clippers last season. The five-time NBA All-Star, who has also played for the Rockets and Wizards during his career, has averaged 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 8.9 assists over 11 NBA seasons.
