The poor kid hit in the outfield by a Vladdy Guerrero line drive is thankfully doing A-OK. During Monday’s MLB Home Run Derby, Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. faced off for the title against Tampa Bay’s Randy Arozarena and drilled a kid with a 100-mph ball in left field.
It was a terrific reminder that letting kids run on the outfield during the Derby might not be the brightest idea.

Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals did not have a good season in 2022-23. And, 2023-24 doesn’t figure to be that much better. Despite that, Murray is optimistic about the upcoming season. Perhaps because Kliff Kingsbury is gone.
The team has a new head coach, offensive coordinator and general manager. They fired Kingsbury and former GM Steve Keim stepped down to focus on his health. Kingsbury ran the offense and the team did not have an official coordinator on that side of the ball.

Amid negotiations for a new contract, Giants running back Saquon Barkley is reportedly so displeased with the notion of playing the 2023 season under the franchise tag that he could sit out the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Cowboys. But after a report emerged detailing an offer New York supposedly made for $13 million per season, Barkley took to Twitter to refute the claim.
ProFootballTalk‘s Mike Florio reported that the team’s offer was $3 million per year shy of Barkley’s desired salary.

MLB has announced the dates and locations for its World Tour in 2024, with games set to be held internationally in South Korea, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom.
The Seoul Series in South Korea will be the 2024 MLB season opener, as the Padres and Dodgers will take their NL West rivalry to Southeast Asia on March 20–21. The series will be the first time a regular-season MLB series has been played in South Korea, and it’s the ninth time a season has gotten underway with a series outside of the United States or Canada.

Mike “Mantaur” Halac, a WWE wrestler in the mid-1990s known for his trademark bull’s head getup, has died. He was 55.
“WWE is saddened to learn that Mike Halac, better known to WWE fans as Mantaur, has passed away,” the organization said in a statement. “Halac’s combination of size and charisma immediately captivated fans worldwide as he took to the ring in a giant bull head to highlight his half-man, half-minotaur persona.

Conference realignment is robbing college football fans of one of the best rivalries in the sport, according to one prominent Big 12 head coach.
Big 12 powers Oklahoma and Texas will be bolting for the SEC after this season, and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy was quite frank in discussing the future of his team’s Bedlam rivalry against the Sooners at Big 12 media days Wednesday in Arlington, Texas.
“When Oklahoma decided to leave the Big 12, they chose to end Bedlam,” Gundy said, per Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.
“It’s a one-sided deal,” added Gundy.
