Over the summer, the NHL tried to crack down on head coaches yelling at officials and it would appear that their tactics didn’t work on Anaheim Ducks head coach Greg Cronin.
Although, when you see why he was mad, there’s no video montage of coaches yelling at officials powerful enough to make anyone hold their tongue.
The Ducks were in Pittsburgh on Monday night to cap off a 4-game road trip out east. It had gone extremely well through the first three games for the team, which saw them take impressive wins against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins, and Philadelphia Flyers.

With the trade deadline set to expire at 4 p.m. ET, a few contenders are calling about one of the top players on the market. ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Bills and 49ers have discussed potentially trading for Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson.
Johnson reportedly requested a trade from Chicago ahead of the deadline, as the two sides have failed to find common ground on an extension. The 24-year-old is currently in the final year of his deal and set to hit free agency at the end of the season.

In the fall of 2020, Max Strus and his agent were the ones making the sales pitch.
Strus, an undrafted player out of DePaul by way of Lewis College, started his NBA career with the Celtics’ Summer League team in 2019. After being cut by Boston at the end of training camp, the Illinois native then signed with his hometown Bulls, making only two appearances for the club. In December of that year, he tore his ACL during a G League game.
So when it came time to find a team after recovering from surgery, Strus had to be the one to market himself.

In discussions of the Raiders‘ struggles in 2023, much has been made of the play of Las Vegas wide receiver Davante Adams.
Through eight games, Adams is averaging 67.4 receiving yards per contest—his lowest total since 2017, when he averaged 63.2 yards for the Packers in his first Pro Bowl season. His average yards per catch is at an eight-year low, and he spent much of the Raiders’ last game before the trade deadline visibly frustrated as his team lost 26–14 to the Lions in Detroit.

The Penguins held a touching tribute to former player Adam Johnson before their game on Monday, days after he died as the result of an on-ice accident during a game in England. 
Johnson died Saturday after suffering a cut to the neck from an opposing player’s skate during a game for the Nottingham Panthers of England’s Elite Ice Hockey League. He was 29. 
Johnson signed his first pro contract with the Penguins in 2017 and played 13 games for the franchise in the ’18–19 and ’19–20 seasons.

Korn Ferry Tour players Jake Staiano and Vincie India were recently suspended for violating the PGA Tour Integrity Program by placing bets on PGA Tour competitions. Staiano, who was handed a three-month suspension, recently joined the ‘Any Given Monday‘ podcast to share details about the situation.
The Colorado State product explained that he never denied gambling on events, but his three-month ban compared to the wagers he made seem rather severe.
Staiano said that he placed a total of four wagers back in 2021 totaling $116.20, with all four bets being tied to Bryson DeChambeau.

Grading the James Harden trade for the Clippers, 76ers, and Thunder as the veteran guard goes to LA.
James Harden finally got his wish. The Philadelphia 76ers traded the veteran guard to the Los Angeles Clippers for a huge package of picks and players that also involves the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Clippers are getting Harden, P.J. Tucker, and Filip Petrusev in the deal.
