After winning the 2022 World Cup in legendary fashion, Lionel Messi was widely expected to retire from international soccer. Instead, his international career may be taking on new life with a shot at another Olympic gold medal in play.
The superstar was invited by his former Barcelona and Argentina teammate Javier Mascherano, who currently coaches the Argentina U-20 team, to the upcoming Paris Olympics if the Albiceleste qualify for the Summer Games.
“Leo has an open door to the national team to do whatever he wishes—that’s the reality,” Mascherano said, per Marca.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had himself a heck of a day on Sunday, catching 12 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City’s 31–17 win over the Chargers. Maybe it was because Taylor Swift was in attendance (Kelce has put up bigger numbers when the pop star is in the stadium), or maybe it was because it was National Tight Ends Day.
The NFL has officially dubbed the fourth Sunday in October “National Tight Ends Day” every year since 2019. It’s a movement that started with the 49ers but has come to be embraced by tight ends across the league.

While the Jrue Holiday trade may have been the splashier, more dramatic move, it was Kristaps Porziņģis who looked like the Celtics’ most important offseason acquisition Wednesday.
The Celtics held on against a gritty Knicks team for a 108–104 season-opening win. Porziņģis shined, finishing with 30 points, eight rebounds and four blocks, the most points ever in a player’s Celtics debut.

Victor Wembanyama made his long-awaited NBA debut Wednesday night when the Spurs opened their regular season with a loss against the visiting Mavericks. Despite the less-than-desirable outcome for San Antonio, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA draft had an impressive stat line—and it looked a bit familiar.
Wembanyama finished his debut with 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field and notched two assists and five rebounds. Almost 26 years earlier, Hall of Famer Tim Duncan made his debut for San Antonio on Oct. 31, 1997, after being selected with the No.

Thinner air poses a big challenge for teams, and drivers, at the Mexico City Grand Prix
Formula 1 is in the middle of its toughest stretch of the season, a triple-header of races taking the grid from Austin, to Mexico City this week, and finally to São Paulo for the Brazilian Grand Prix. While the F1 schedule originally had two different triple-headers on the schedule, the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix due to flooding removed the first.
But now we are living the second.
One of the most notorious names in the American football ecosystem is back.
