One thing worth watching this season is how Jordan Poole, the 24-year-old former Warriors sixth man and high-scoring spark plug, will adjust to being a franchise player in Washington.
The betting markets seem to have him pegged as the front-runner for next year’s Most Improved Player award, even though he’ll have the added weight of running an offense without the assistance of future Hall of Famers Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, who quietly serves as one of the best screeners and setup men in basketball.

This dunk was a real ball buster.
Nate Hinton of the Rockets had an amazing day on Sunday … until he had his testicles stomped into oblivion following a dunk.

Hinton was on the floor laughing following a foul, while Ed Croswell of the Jazz casually dunked the ball. Croswell hung on the rim, before dropping … right onto Hinton’s nuts.
As the college football world descends on Nashville for SEC media days, the hometown team has made a splash. Vanderbilt announced Monday that it is extending head coach Clark Lea. The Music City native played for the school and is entering his third season at the helm for Commodores.
“Vanderbilt is home, it is such an honor for me to lead our football program,” Lea said in a statement. “The only way that we accomplish the mission we have set forth for Vanderbilt football is with the vision and support from chancellor Diermeier and [athletic director] Candice Lee.
Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry added to his trophy case over the weekend with his win at the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.
It was a dramatic week on the course for Curry, who hit a hole in one on the par-3 seventh hole during Saturday’s round and later clinched the championship with a walk-off eagle putt on the final hole of the tournament.
But what if NBA broadcasting legend Mike Breen had been on the call for these epic moments? A few fans put together video compilations of exactly what that would sound like, and the result are incredible.
Eight former Northwestern football players intend to sue the university over alleged “physical, sexual and emotional abuse” following the school’s investigation into hazing within the Wildcats program, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported Monday. The players have retained noted civil rights attorney Ben Crump for the lawsuit.
“Whether the coaches at Northwestern approved or participated in the harassment of these players or not, they are responsible for allowing and enabling a toxic, disgusting, and damaging culture in their programs,” Crump said, via Rittenberg.
TAKE THAT, BALL!
Anthony Santander hit his 100th career home run on Sunday afternoon, and it was enough to give a police officer working the game the shock of a lifetime. So much he even thought about pulling his gun on the ball.

Despite major moves for Karim Benzema and Lionel Messi, forwards are still at the forefront of the summer transfer market.
Bayern Munich, Juventus and Inter Milan appear to be the biggest buyers in the striker market.
Here’s the latest.
Transfer rumors and done deals
Bayern Munich board member Uli Hoeneß said talks are positive between the German club and Harry Kane’s camp over a summer transfer. The Spurs forward has reportedly signaled he wants to join the Bundesliga giants this summer before his contract at Tottenham expires next summer.
For the first time in the history of Par Talk, we can actually discuss a Rory McIlroy win. It wasn’t just any old win, either, McIlroy played spoiler to local Scotsman Robert MacIntyre by making birdie on his final two holes and hitting what may be the greatest approach shot of his entire career.
MacIntyre hit an all-world shot into the 72nd green as well on Sunday, so naturally, we have to pick which of the two was more impressive than the other.
Eight Northwestern football players are in the process of suing the university over hazing allegations.
Former head coach coach Pat Fitzgerald was fired by Northwestern following hazing allegations that were incredibly sexual in nature. Now, the program has been engulfed by chaos, and it appears a lawsuit is imminent.
Eight players have retained Ben Crump and the law firm Levin & Perconti to represent them in any upcoming legal action that might happen, according to a Monday release.
Judging from the release, a lawsuit is guaranteed and the allegations in it will be serious.
1. ESPN baseball reporter Buster Olney got a lot of people on social media all riled up because he asked Angels manager Phil Nevin about the team’s possibly trading Shohei Ohtani during an in-game interview on Sunday Night Baseball.
“It’s all business.”

The backlash Olney is getting is absurd. Ohtani is having an all-time season and has gotten more coverage than any player in the league this year.
