Alabama quarterback Bryce Young has canceled his remaining pre-draft visits with NFL teams, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The news adds speculation that Young is already certain he will be drafted by the Panthers with the No. 1 pick in this month’s NFL draft.
The 2021 Heisman winner has already met with both the Panthers and the Texans, who have the No. 2 pick in the draft.
Young has been the favorite to be the top pick in the draft for some time, and it appears to be an inevitability at this point.

Let’s overreact to the start of every series in the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
NBA Playoffs series are not strictly determined by the first game, but teams that win Game 1 historically have a huge edge in advancing. In 2018, the NBA put out data that said teams that win the first game of a best-of-seven series win the series 76.6 percent of the time. In the first round, teams that win Game 1 win the series 79.7 percent of the time, according to Land of Basketball.
One participant in this year’s Boston Marathon towered above the rest. Longtime Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chára (who stands 6’9″) is one of several former sports stars participating in the 127th edition of the nation’s most famous road race.
Chára, 46, retired after last season following a 24-year NHL career. He’s running in support of two charities, one that benefits people with cerebral palsy and one that benefits people with paralysis. (About 20% of Boston Marathon participants earn their spot in the field by raising money for charity.)

I don’t particularly care if you think Jalen Hurts is the Eagles’ quarterback of the future, a system product, an ascending star, a future mayor à la Ed Rendell or worth every penny of the five-year, $255 million extension he signed Monday. Those are all opinions based on conditional factors that are currently out of Hurts’s control, and the control of the organization he is now tied to long term.
There is a world in which Hurts will lift three Lombardi Trophies in his lifetime. There is also a world in which he’ll be excised from the organization’s plans, just like Carson Wentz.

Hurts certainly earned his payday after leading his team to an NFC championship and a Super Bowl LVII appearance — one in which he arguably should have won the MVP despite his team’s loss. Hurts’s 70 rushing yards and three scores were both Super Bowl records for a quarterback. Not only that, but 45 of those yards came after contact, and 10 of his 15 carries went for a first down or touchdown.
The Chinese Basketball Association disqualified the Shanghai Sharks and Jiangsu Dragons on Monday after they engaged in fixing matches during the playoffs, the league announced. Shanghai and Jiangsu were playing each other in a quarterfinal series, with the Sharks defeating the Dragons two games to one.
One of the Sharks top players is former NBA guard Eric Bledsoe, but he was suspended for four games before the playoffs started.
A Virginia brewery pulled an all-time troll move to celebrate Dan Snyder selling the Washington Commanders.
Dan Snyder has reportedly reached a deal to sell the team to Josh Harris for just north of $6 billion, according to multiple reports.
That means Snyder is leaving, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a fan of the franchise who will be sad to see him go.
