The connection Battlehawk QB AJ McCarron and WR Austin Proehl have built is really cool to see.
The XFL has been really, really fun to watch in the early parts of the season, especially the St. Louis Battlehawks. They’re flying high at 2-0 and coming off another comeback victory over the Seattle Sea Dragons. Their most crucial play came on third and two, with the Battlehawks driving to try and win the game.

The point guard missed Thursday night’s game vs. Sacramento.
The Trail Blazers returned to action on Thursday night following time off for the All-Star break, but they were without two of their best players. Point guard Damian Lillard and power forward Jerami Grant were both held out of the game for rest vs. Sacramento as the team was late in flying into the city before the game.
Portland’s decision to rest those two led to some speculation that the team could be trying to tank for a better shot to draft potential No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama.

After four days away, basketball has returned. Cue the happy tears.
A picture, as they say, is worth a thousand words. Let’s see if I can match that total. To the scores!
Sixers overcome 17-point deficit to top Grizzlies, 110-105
That’s five — count it — five wins a row for the Philadelphia 76ers, who almost certainly seemed out of this one through most of the action.
This might be the longest in-game dunk in NBA history.
The free throw line dunk has survived generation after generation as the most impressive feat of athleticism on a basketball court. Julius Erving became the first man to try in the 1976 dunk contest, Michael Jordan popularized it a decade later in the same event, and ever since we’ve seen everyone from Brent Barry to Serge Ibaka or Zach LaVine (with a windmill thrown in for good measure) try it.
What you don’t see often is someone trying a free throw line dunk in a game.

F1 teams go to greath lengths to hide their secrets, and a red flag from Mercedes is the latest example
In the world of Formula 1, spies are always watching. As such, teams go to great lengths to try and hide critical parts from the prying eyes of their competitors as much as possible.
A red flag during the second day of pre-season testing served as the latest reminder.
George Russell’s W14, Mercedes’ challenger for the 2023 F1 season, suffered a hydraulic failure during the second session of the day.
The quarterback denies any animosity between he and his former coach.
On Friday, The Athletic reported that Russell Wilson asked the Seahawks to fire both coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider last February. That appeared to be the last straw for the organization, as Seattle traded Wilson to the Broncos later that offseason.
However, the Denver quarterback denies that the report is true. On Twitter, Wilson explained that he appreciated his time in Seattle and has no ill will towards Carroll or Schneider.

Wilson reportedly had another coach in mind: Sean Payton.
Before being traded to the Denver Broncos and beginning what would be the worst year of his NFL career, Broncos QB Russell Wilson wanted Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and GM Jon Schneider fired, according to a report by The Athletic.
According to the report, Wilson was convinced that Carroll and Schneider were blocking Wilson’s chances of winning another Super Bowl and other individual awards.

Russell Wilson reportedly wanted Sean Payton to replace Pete Carroll in Seattle.
The new Arizona coach shared a fun story to explain how his quarterback is rehabbing.
New Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon’s first big goal is to make sure quarterback Kyler Murray rehabs properly and is healthy by the time he returns. Only two weeks into the job, Gannon seems confident enough in his relationship with Murray to joke about it with the media.
When asked about how Murray’s rehab is going, Gannon used a funny point of reference to explain that the quarterback is doing well.
“He wanted to play me one-on-one today, so I guess he’s doing pretty good,” Gannon joked.
