Dread it. Run from it. The Buccaneers’ mid-season slump arrives all the same.
For the fourth season in a row, the Buccaneers are staring down the very real possibility of a three-game losing slump in the middle of the year, as they dropped their second consecutive game Sunday and third in the last four as the Bills rammed through them, 44-32.

The Gonzaga students had their Kennel Campout experience ruined by the unbeaten Stanford Cardinal (5-0) at the McCarthey Athletic Center. The Zags move to 2-2 in the early season, 0-2 inside the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Stanford’s junior guard Chloe Cardy led all scorers with 20 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field, 2-for-5 on three-point shooting, and 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. Junior forward Sunaja “Nunu” Agara snagged a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, two blocks).

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Tevaughn Campbell forced Montreal quarterback Shea Patterson’s fumble at the goal line and Marcus Sayles recovered it in the end zone with 3:05 left to help the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Alouettes 25-17 on Sunday night for their fifth Grey Cup title.
Saskatchewan also won Canadian Football League championships in 1966, 1989, 2007 and 2013. Montreal won the last of its eight titles in 2023.
Trevor Harris completed 23 of 27 passes for 302 yards for Saskatchewan. Samuel Emilus had 10 catches for 108 yards, A.J.

Early reports on the knee injury suffered by Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs indicate the Pro Bowler likely avoided a major injury on Sunday in New York.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the “initial belief” is Jacobs has avoided a significant knee injury, although more testing is required in Green Bay on Monday.
“There’s optimism he’ll return soon,” wrote Pelissero on Sunday.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said there was concern over Jacobs’ injury but offered no specifics.

Golden State Warriors vet Draymond Green gave a Pelicans fan near the baseline a face-to-face greeting that quickly turned tense.
Green had to be separated after squaring up to the fan, who was chirping back at him. The fan raised his arms as Green barked, with a referee and players stepping in to calm things down.
WATCH:
NBA executives likely felt uneasy watching the exchange, unsure how it would end.
Green is known for his short fuse, often directed at opponents or former teammate Jordan Poole.
