The Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen as their head coach over the offseason as a last gasp at salvaging the Trevor Lawrence era. Jacksonville got aggressive in the draft by trading up for Travis Hunter at the expense of next year’s first-round pick. The early results haven’t always been pretty, but they have been effective. The Jags were 2-1 with wins over the lowly Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers, and now they were facing an unbeaten San Francisco 49ers team that was getting starting QB Brock Purdy back.

I’ve seen some tense interactions between NFL coaches and reporters, but none of them hold a candle to what happened on Sunday in Las Vegas.
With his team trailing 14-9, Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson and his squad came out for the second half against the Raiders. As the score suggested, the Bears were not playing up to their standard, and CBS reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala asked Johnson about the offensive struggles.
Kinkhabwala was within her rights to do that; that’s what good reporters do in that situation.

We now know who will headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LX.
Bad Bunny.
After months of debate, the singer was confirmed as the lead artist for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, that will be part of Super Bowl LX. That game will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 8, 2026.

Al Horford’s presence will be missed in Boston.
It will be felt in Golden State, where Horford intends to sign a multi-year contract with the Warriors, leaving the Celtics for a second time in his storied career, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Jayson Tatum dubbed Horford “one of the best teammates I’ve ever had at any level,” and Jaylen Brown called him “a real-life legend and hero.” You won’t find anyone in the Celtics organization who disagrees.

Joe Flacco once again performed poorly for the Browns in their 34-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday, with Dillon Gabriel coming in at the end of the game to perform some mop-up work at quarterback.
Flacco finished the game 16-of-34 for 184 yards with three giveaways — two interceptions and a lost fumble on an Aidan Hutchinson strip-sack.
Through four games, Flacco has now completed 58.1 percent of his passes for 815 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions.

Coming into Week 4, Tutu Atwell had just one catch for 4 yards on the season. He was barely involved on offense despite signing a $10 million contract in the offseason, but his number was finally called on Sunday and he delivered.
With just under 2 minutes left in the game, Matthew Stafford threw deep to Atwell, who lost his defender with a nifty route to the outside and up the field. Atwell hauled it in and cruised to the end zone for an 88-yard touchdown, giving the Rams a 27-20 lead and breaking the tie with Indianapolis.

The terrible turf at MetLife Stadium strikes again. New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was the latest victim in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The second-year WR went down halfway through the second quarter and had to be carted to the locker room, with reports soon after suggesting Nabers likely tore his ACL.

#Giants WR Malik Nabers is believed to have torn his ACL, per me and @TomPelissero. A crushing blow. pic.twitter.

Europe have won the Ryder Cup once again with a dramatic 15-13 victory over the USA.
Luke Donald’s side took a commanding 11.5-4.5 lead heading into Sunday, only for Cameron Young and Justin Thomas to land two heavy blows with the first two points of the day.
But Shane Lowry proved invaluable late on to clinch a half point to take Europe to 14 points. And Tyrrell Hatton’s half against Collin Morikawa was the clincher for the overall match, sparking wild scenes of celebrations for the blue and yellow faithful gathered around the 18th green.
