The Jacksonville Jaguars decided Monday to release starting defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. To make matters worse, the news comes on Fatukasi’s birthday. 
Fatukasi, now 29, has been one of the Jaguars’ starting defensive tackles for the past two seasons, ever since signing a three-year deal potentially worth $30 million back in March 2022. Monday’s move saves Jacksonville $3.5 million in cap space. He didn’t register a sack this past season despite starting in 16 games.

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce announced his retirement Monday amid a tear-soaked ode to the merits of hard work. Clad in a sleeveless T-shirt, the center aimed to leave the building in his default armor; as someone who could synonymously blend into the environment and also come to define it.
The facts we know at this point in time are all but cemented. Kelce will go down as one of the greatest players to snap a football and one of the greatest offensive linemen. Period. He will be in the Hall of Fame.

Longtime Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, resulting in an outpouring of gratitude from peers, pundits and fans on social media.
Kelce’s retirement was mostly expected as he hinted in recent months that the 2023 season was likely his last rodeo, but the news still struck fans and fellow NFL players with emotion.
The 36-year-old stalwart ends his NFL career playing all 13 of his NFL seasons with the Eagles.

Whispers of discontent around the Gators football program have put a giant spotlight on the football program, with fans and former alumni wondering if Napier can turn this ship around in Gainesville.

Arch Madness is here, and the field is loaded.
The Missouri Valley Conference tournament — better known as Arch Madness — annually producing one of the most thrilling conference tournaments of the men’s college basketball slate. This year should be no exception.
Indiana State won the conference in the regular season behind breakout bespectacled big man Robbie Avila, who has taken the country by storm with his all-around skill set. The Sycamores went 26-5 overall and 17-3 in conference.

The NBA is undergoing a scoring inflation. That’s obvious to anyone who watches a game or checks a box score. Teams are averaging 115.2  points per game this season, compared to just  96.3 in 2011-12.
Most critics blame load management and the lack of consequences in regular-season basketball for the waning effort players show on defense. 
We agree.
However, former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas was more specific in his blame this week. According to  Arenas, European players are at fault for the negative trend.
