Your questions, looking at the here and now, and also ahead to January …
From The One They Call Nate (@nathancreaney7): What are the chances that the Chicago Bears will move off Eberflus at the end of the season. If so, would Jim Harbaugh be a potential candidate?
Nate, I’d say the chances that Bears president Kevin Warren wants to remake the football operation, and maybe be more intimately involved in it after the season, are strong. So I think it’d probably take a late-season surge from the team to get Matt Eberflus a third season in Chicago.

Panthers coach Frank Reich is making a change to Carolina’s offensive play-calling duties once again.
In October, Reich entrusted the Panthers offensive play calling to offensive coordinator Thomas Brown after the franchise’s 0–6 start to the season with Reich calling plays. Following the Panthers’ Week 7 bye, Brown led the Carolina offense in a 15–13 victory against the Texans, before losing back-to-back games to the Colts and, most recently, the Bears in Week 10.
The Clippers’ woes are enduring.
Los Angeles lost 108–111 to the Nuggets on Tuesday, their sixth straight loss overall and fifth straight since James Harden entered the starting lineup.
Now, there’s no shame in a three-point loss at Denver. The Clips played really well for most of the night and had a chance to send the game to overtime, except Paul Geroge’s potential game-tying shot literally stuck on the rim.
The game was most interesting as a peek into the Clippers’ fourth-quarter strategy.
It’s finally here, folks. It’s Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend, easily the most highly-anticipated race on the Formula 1 schedule.
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this race and that’s with both championships having been locked up for weeks.
Now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still battles worth keeping tabs on throughout the weekend. There certainly are, but can you imagine the fervor if there was still a championship on the line?
Still, despite the excitement, there are some genuine concerns about how Formula 1 is impacting the city of Las Vegas.
The 76ers may force Daryl Morey to do something he doesn’t like.
Nothing.
Morey, the Philadelphia president, is a renowned wheeler and dealer and in the aftermath of the James Harden trade is suddenly stocked with assets. With draft capital and movable contracts, Sixers are in position to be a player on the trade market.
But why would they? They are 8–2 on the season, deadlocked atop the Eastern Conference standings with the Celtics, who Philly will face Wednesday night. The Sixers are top 10 in offensive and defensive ratings while trailing only Boston in net rating (+9) this season.
The Jets have put together the streakiest start to a season one could imagine in the wake of an injury that’s kept Aaron Rodgers sidelined since Week 1. After the opening-night victory against the Bills, New York lost three straight, then won three in a row before dropping its last two games.
But amid the criticism that’s been directed at the team, Rodgers threw a bit of a shade at New York’s other team, the Giants, in defense of the Jets.
The Eagles and Chiefs face off Monday night in a Super Bowl rematch as well as the most anticipated matchup of the season, so both teams have their hands full in preparation. Specifically for Kansas City, the team is next up in trying to figure out how to stop the Eagles’ vaunted “Tush Push,” or Philly-approved name, the “Brotherly Shove.”
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed Philadelphia’s seemingly unstoppable play on Monday, and the veteran coach had a simple explanation for why Philadelphia is so successful.
“I don’t think they’re spending a ton of time on it.
Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore raised eyebrows across the country—for better or for worse—with his speech after the Wolverines’ 24-15 win over Penn State Saturday.
The longtime Michigan assistant offered a passionate, colorful defense of Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh, who was suspended three games after a conference investigation into allegations of illegal in-person scouting by his program.
The proposal is up against concerns that further reducing the pitch clock would increase the risk of injuries to pitchers.
Keeping tabs on all the theme helmets for the Las Vegas Grand Prix
The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix is here.
The event is shaping up to be a true Vegas spectacle both on, and off, the track. With race promoters, drivers, and teams alike promising blazing speed and plenty of overtaking, the battle on the track will be fierce. Then there is everything Sin City has to offer, complete with a first-of-its-kind Opening Ceremony to kick off race week.
As you might expect, we are starting to see a bit of flavor from the drivers themselves.
