The value of NFL running backs was a hot topic all offseason. And Hall of Fame back Marshall Faulk has a surprising take on the issue.
Earlier this year, several big-name running backs — including Saquon Barkley, Austin Ekeler and Josh Jacobs — expressed concern over NFL teams’ unwillingness to sign them to long-term, big money contracts. Rather than paying these veterans, many owners are trending toward drafting younger, cheaper talent.
According to Faulk, though, it’s a problem the running backs may have created for themselves.

Antonio Pierce was given a tough opportunity last week as he was named interim coach of the Raiders after coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler were fired on Oct. 31.
Despite all the chatter, Pierce led the Raiders to a 30–6 win over the Giants in his first game as a head coach. This wasn’t just Pierce’s first win as the Raiders’ coach, but it was also quarterback Aidan O’Connell’s first win as a starter.
After the game, O’Connell spoke highly of the interim coach.
“He did a great job,” O’Connell said, via Pro Football Talk.

South Carolina’s Milaysia Fulwiley made a name for herself with an incredible bucket in her first college game
College basketball is back, and that means the freshman class gets to make a national introduction for itself. South Carolina women’s basketball starts the year at No. 6 in the AP Poll, and brought in a loaded recruiting haul led by 5’10 guard Milaysia Fulwiley. It only took Fulwiley one game to make a name for herself and get one of the greatest basketball players ever to tweet about her.

Leading up to No. 6 South Carolina’s international clash against No. 10 Notre Dame in Paris, Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley said she was thrilled about this year’s team despite graduating seven players from last season.
After the Gamecocks’ 100–71 victory against the Fighting Irish on Monday afternoon, it is easy to see why Staley is excited about her team, especially after the play of freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley.

No head coaches have been fired yet this season, an unusual show of restraint in recent times. But coordinators have started to go, most notably Iowa OC Brian Ferentz last week and USC DC Alex Grinch (21) this week. Those two have one thing in common: They should have been fired last year. Retaining them after bad 2022 performances did their respective teams no favors.

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill played against his former team, the Chiefs, on Sunday for the first time since being traded to Miami last year.
Fans couldn’t wait to see how Hill interacted with his former teammates on the field in Germany. Ahead of the game, a video circulated of Hill poking his former coach Andy Reid’s belly in a quick exchange, followed by him briefly speaking to Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
After the game, though, Hill got a chance to talk with more of his former teammates.
