There has been little to no update, at least not a public-facing one, regarding the framework agreement and potential merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf since the shocking announcement was made in June 2023. That is still the case as of today, but a behind-the-scenes move could indicate something in the merger department is on the horizon.
LIV Golf has hired Creative Artist Agency (CAA) for media rights and corporate sponsorship deals, according to Front Office Sports. The PGA Tour is also represented by CAA.

With the Democratic National Convention in full-swing, Kamala Harris is set to officially become the party’s nominee for President of the United States on Thursday.
The convention is taking place in Chicago, which is where the WNBA’s Sky are located. The biggest name on the Sky roster is rookie Angel Reese.
On Wednesday, a reporter asked Reese about Vice President Harris, who Reese met back in 2022 after her LSU Tigers won the NCAA Women’s National Championship and earned a trip to the White House.

Danielle Collins is set to retire at the end of the year, and the American tennis star isn’t holding back on her way out of the sport.
While taking on Erika Andreeva in the Round of 16 at the Monterrey Open on Wednesday night, the 30-year-old caused a pause in the action by shouting at a group of unruly fans in the stadium. The moment came while she was receiving Andreeva’s serve in the third set of the contest.
“What in the world,” Collins shouted. “I don’t get it. It’s not that hard to let us play tennis and be supportive.

Who are the top 10 PGA Tour players to watch this week at the BMW Championship? Let’s dive deep into these power rankings.
This week, the Top 50 are in Colorado for the BMW Championship, the second FedEx Cup playoff event. They are back at Castle Pines Golf Club to take on the 8,100-yard track at 6,500 feet above sea level.
Only three new players emerged into the Top 50 after the FedEx St. Jude Championship, so there was little movement in those standings.

The Connecticut Sun “hosted” the Los Angeles Sparks at TD Garden in Boston on Tuesday night. Star Sun guard DiJonai Carrington enjoyed the opportunity to play in the NBA arena, but didn’t like that fans couldn’t watch the game on TV.
Thanks to the rise in popularity of the WNBA – due in large part to the arrival of Caitlin Clark – the league is taking full advantage of the extra media and fan attention.

I love an NHL offer sheet situation. It’s a good way to get a nice hit of NHL drama in the middle of the summer, and St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong just did it by signing away a pair of restricted free agents from the Edmonton Oilers, defenseman Philip Broberg and forward Dylan Holloway.
And he has no qualms about having done it either and said as much in hilarious fashion.
First, if you’re unfamiliar with offer sheets, here’s how they work. NHL teams have restricted free agents.

Lexi Thompson, one of the faces of the LPGA, has been smiling far and wide ahead of this week’s AIG Women’s Open.
At the U.S. Women’s Open in May, an emotional Lexi Thompson announced her retirement from pro golf, effective at the end of the season.
Since then, she has played in five events, with her best finish coming at the Meijer Classic, a tie for second. But now she is in Scotland, playing in what could be the last major championship of her career at the AIG Women’s Open.

The Texas native picked the Utes over Arkansas and Cal.
2025 five-star guard Leonna “LA” Sneed made a major decision last week, announcing her commitment to the Utah Utes, adding to a strong recruiting class for coach Lynne Roberts.
Sneed, ranked the No. 26 player in the Class of 2025 by ESPN, is the eighth-best point guard in the cycle, and was deciding between Utah, Arkansas, and Cal before ultimately committing to the Utes.
