I’m a big fan of naps, they are literally a gift to humanity. I literally cannot think of a time when I took a nap and felt worse afterward, and I’ll take at least a 30-minute snooze.
However, if there was ever a time when you would not find me getting some shut-eye, it would be while I’m playing sports. Whether it was high school basketball, ultimate Frisbee in college, or even spikeball with friends, I’m fully engaged – napping is the last thing on my mind. I’m out there to win, and sleeping does not help me win.

Former NFL quarterback Alex Smith’s leg looks frightening.
Smith has been out of the league since 2021 but sparked serious questions concerning his right leg after sharing a photo on Instagram.
The disfigured leg looked like a mutation, with Smith’s right shin awkwardly bulging out of his leg.
“Probably should’ve put some sunscreen on it,” Smith captioned his photo.
According to the Daily Mail, Smith, 40, developed necrotizing fasciitis and required 17 surgeries over a grueling 9-month period.

Team USA Basketball’s biggest dilemma of the Paris Summer Games was Jayson Tatum’s benching against Serbia in their first official Olympic matchup, putting up a goose egg in minutes played.
Tatum didn’t redeem himself much in the second game against South Sudan, only scoring four points on 2-of-4 shooting after playing 17 minutes.
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is on Team Tatum, castigating the Team USA coaching staff for benching Tatum, a reigning NBA champion.

Kristen Faulkner won the first U.S. road race gold in 40 years.
The Eiffel Tower in the back, the finish line in front, Kristen Faulkner seemed unaware she was on her way to win the Olympic road race.
The 31-year-old had shaken free from a group of leaders with just 3 kilometers to go on the 158-kilometer course, and went into tunnel vision mode quickly. She looked back once, saw she had opened up a gap, and powered away toward the line.
When she crossed it, there was no celebration.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the Summer Olympics, it’s that I’m never going to swim in the Seine River.
Calling the water quality of this river “nasty” is an insult to the word nasty. The French spent $1.5 billion trying to make this water somewhat swimable, and it still didn’t do anything. In fact, the start of the triathlon events at these Olympic Games had to be delayed because of dangerous levels of E. Coli.
The Seine makes Boston’s rivers – forever immortalized in a song literally called “Dirty Water” – look sparkling clean.

Team USA’s uniforms were the best in the 2024 Olympics men’s golf event. Here are the three best and three worst uniforms.
The men’s golf competition is officially over, as Team USA secured Gold for the second straight Olympics.
Scottie Scheffler fired a 9-under 61 to add a Gold medal to his growing trophy collection.
Tommy Fleetwood won Silver for Great Britain and Hideki Matsuyama won bronze for Team Japan.
I’m not here to talk about their physical performance at Le Golf National, though.
