Anthony Richardson’s deep shot to Alec Pierce tops our list of the best throws of Week 1
Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season is officially in the books. A week that began with the Kansas City Chiefs knocking off the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Championship Game rematch came to a close with the San Francisco 49ers opening up their title defense in the NFC with a win over the visiting New York Jets.

Here are the power rankings after Week 1.
Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season is officially in the books and my goodness was it fascinating. Quarterbacks around the league struggled to make an impact as defense reigned supreme, and we already have some fanbases hitting the panic button after brutal starts to the year.
This is still very much the feeling out stage of the season, so a lot of team rankings are based mostly off vibes.

Christian McCaffrey’s injury status turned Jordan Mason into an unfair target.
The San Francisco 49ers shocked the NFL by listing superstar running back Christian McCaffrey as inactive the team’s season opener against the New York Jets to cap Week 1 on Monday Night Football. McCaffrey had been listed on the injury report as questionable with Achilles and calf injuries, but it was widely assumed he was going to play. The next man up in the 49ers’ backfield was Jordan Mason, who turned in the game of his life in McCaffrey’s absence.

The continued growth of Formula 1 worldwide — as well as in the United States — has been attributed to the Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive. Whatever the merits are regarding that argument, one of the aspects of that series that drove the growth of the sport worldwide is the introduction to the drivers themselves. Athletes who are incredible personalities outside of the car, and the best at what they do inside the car.

We are taking a look at the biggest surprises from Sunday of Week 1.
The first Sunday of the NFL season delivered in every single way. Football is back and it feels incredible.
Just about everything that happened on Sunday provided a boost of serotonin in some sort of way, but some events were more surprising and shocking than others.
This where we come in. Every week we (Michael Peterson and RJ Ochoa) offer thoughts on the Sunday that was across the NFL through our blend of wit, charm and handsomeness.

Which quarterbacks will shine in Week 2 for your fantasy football teams? We’ll take a look at all of them in our rankings.
Welcome to Week 2 of the NFL season. Week 1 was eye opening, as passing numbers were down across the league and rushing quarterbacks lived up to their hype for the most part, as Josh Allen, Anthony Richardson, Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels all put up strong fantasy numbers with the help of their rushing ability.

F1 is back this weekend with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and so is young Oliver Bearman
After a week off, Formula 1 is back in action this week with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
At Haas, the week will offer a glimpse of the future as Oliver Bearman steps into the lineup, replacing Kevin Magnussen. Magnussen was hit with two penalty points for causing a collision with Pierre Gasly at the Italian Grand Prix, triggering a one-race ban.
For the young driver, this is his first chance at a full F1 weekend.

Jordan Mason had a night to remember on the field during the San Francisco 49ers‘ Week 1 win over the New York Jets, but after the final whistle, not so much.
Mason, an undrafted running back out of Georgia Tech, was given the start for the 49ers with Christian McCaffrey out with an injury. The news of McCaffrey not being able to go against the Jets was announced just prior to kickoff, and while Mason took full advantage of his opportunity, rushing for 147 yards and a score, he didn’t escape without making what could be a legitimately costly error.

With morale so low in the New York Giants’ locker room, it can only be up from here … right?
Look no further for insight into the declining team culture than the Giants’ 2023 first-round pick, edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. He frustratingly shut down a reporter over a question on Sunday.
KT’s move didn’t sit well with fans. (Who does he think he is … Deion Sanders?)
Thibodeaux and the Giants had every reason to hang their heads after an embarrassing debut against the Vikings, losing 28-6.
